In this one-day training, you will learn how to conduct an advisory conversation in a way that allows for your input and that of the other person. You will practice how to deliver strong messages with respect, how to organize an equal conversation, and how to intervene when the balance is lost.
Our approach is clear: we assume that you are strong in content. This training will help you with the other aspects of good advising: process and relationship. So that your advice is actually heard and followed up on.
For who?
For professionals who advise in complex or political-administrative environments, such as:
Policy advisors, strategists, staff members;
Project leaders, consultants, financials;
Everyone who regularly advises those with more formal power or influence.
Whether you are sitting at the table with executives, clients, or administrators — this training helps you advise confidently and clearly.
What are you learning?
After this training, you will be able to:
Conduct an advisory conversation in such a way that there is room for your position and that of the other person;
Maintain the balance between empathy and firmness;
Encourage trust in both directions (you in the other, the other in you);
Intervene when the other becomes too dominant or, conversely, too dependent;
Use process and relationship to strengthen your substantive advice;
Take control without losing the relationship.
Our philosophy
A good advisor knows: without trust, there is no advice. And without complete information, good advice is impossible.
That is why in this training you will learn how to conduct conversations in such a way that the right information comes to light AND mutual trust is established. You will practice how you:
Make your role explicit: “It is my role to say this to you, otherwise I am not doing my job well.”;
Maintain balance between dependence and dominance;
Intervene when the dynamics of the conversation shift;
Have real impact from influence and equality.
