Two people are standing on the stage of the NLBVO summer meeting.

The Dutch Professional Association for Negotiators (NLBVO) is committed to making the Netherlands negotiate more effectively, and represents the interests of professional negotiators in the Netherlands. The NLBVO was founded to provide a strong network of negotiation professionals from the public and private sectors, NGOs, and academia. What unites them is the conviction that the Netherlands can and must learn to negotiate and collaborate more effectively.

&FLUENCE supports the NLBVO in its mission to make everyone negotiate better, especially in these times where trust, connection, and common interest are central. Both organizations share the same vision: negotiating is not a game that someone can win, but a process in which parties build sustainable agreements together based on trust. This philosophy aligns with the Harvard vision of negotiation, which focuses on joint interests and respectful cooperation.

Within the NLBVO, experienced negotiators can register as a Registered Negotiator, while less experienced professionals are also welcome as regular members. They can develop further through training, knowledge sharing, and networking events. An annual highlight is the NLBVO Summer Event, where the Lifetime Achievement Award for Negotiation is presented to someone who has made an outstanding effort for constructive dialogue and cooperation. Previous winners include Kim Putters, Gerdi Verbeet, and Feike Sijbesma.
