The Dutch Professional Organization for Negotiators (NLBVO) aims to make negotiations in the Netherlands more effective and represents the interests of professional negotiators in the country.

The NLBVO is an initiative by the De Witt Institute, and is strategically supported by &FLUENCE. This means that &FLUENCE advises the NLBVO on their training programs, and supports the organization during events. The De Witt Institute serves as the think tank for the NLBVO. Tim Masselink, the founder of &FLUENCE, was instrumental in the creation of the NLBVO and is the chairman of this professional organization. &FLUENCE is closely involved with the NLBVO because both organizations have the same vision of negotiation, and they thereby strengthen each other. This vision holds that negotiation is not a competition or a debate that you can win. Essentially, it is about building trust so that parties will give each other what they want out of that trust. As the NLBVO is a growing organization, the objective is to involve more members who can actively organize and provide activities for the NLBVO from committees.

The Registered Negotiators affiliated with the NLBVO come from both the public and private sectors, NGOs, and science. What binds them together is the joint conviction that in the Netherlands negotiations and collaborations must become more effective. It is a platform where professional negotiators find each other, share knowledge and experiences, and further develop themselves.
