On Tuesday, November 4, Maarten van Rossum, Head of Strategy at &FLUENCE, was a guest on the radio show Sven op 1. Here, he spoke with Sven Kockelmann about the cabinet formation. In the broadcast, Maarten emphasized that a minority cabinet would align better with the current, highly fragmented political landscape and that it offers the only realistic chance for a stable coalition.

Maarten explained that a minority cabinet would facilitate more speed, more substantive collaboration, and a shared perspective in the governance of the country. Politics is entrepreneurship and requires courage and the ability to make choices.

An essential component of this is mutual trust. Parties must be willing to grant each other something, be able to explain their wins together, and bear their losses. Only with trust can a minority cabinet function sustainably.

“The Dutch clearly chose something different, this is something different,” said Maarten.
